I have been a freelance photographer based in the Washington, D.C. area since leaving a White House staff photographer position in 1981.

Since that time I have covered Washington for Time Magazine, The Associated Press and The Washington Post.

I have also worked as a still photographer for Ken Burns on his productions of The Civil War, Congress, Jazz and The West.

I have served as a staff photographer on two presidential campaigns as well as several Senate and House races.

I currently undertake corporate and association marketing and editorial assignments, and document Washington events, Capitol Hill visits, business conferences and weddings.
